Classes first held in 1851.

There were four students in the first term.

First teacher was Ms. Susan Thomson.

First High School graduation was in 1915 and included five students.

Original school colors were royal blue, white and black.

Current flagpole was dedicated in 1951 to Marguerite Knight, long-time teacher.

Smallest class was three in 1921.

Largest class was 51 in 1979,

Last graduating class was 1992.

School name and emblem was the Bluejay, adopted in 1940.

First Superintendent was H. L. Bleeker (1913-1917)

Final Superintendent was Sig K. Rimestad (1977-1992)
